SASSA Payment Dates June 2026 - Official Schedule

By Paul Geddes Published 21 May 2026

Quick answer: Older Persons - 3 June. Disability - 4 June. Children's grants (Child Support, Foster Care, Care Dependency) - 5 June. SRD R370 - last week of June (individual dates vary, check yours at srd.sassa.gov.za).

SRD R370 GrantLast week of JuneIndividual dates vary

SASSA follows a consistent pattern: permanent grants (Older Persons, Disability, Children's) are paid in the first week of the month on consecutive working days, avoiding weekends and public holidays. June has no public holidays affecting the first week, so dates are straightforward this month.

SRD R370 - Why Is Your Date Different?

Unlike permanent grants, SRD payments do not happen on a single date for all recipients. SASSA staggers SRD payments across the last week of the month to avoid overwhelming the banking system and ATM networks. Your specific payment date is assigned to you individually and can be found by checking your status at srd.sassa.gov.za - it will show next to your "Approved" status once the payment has been scheduled, usually from the 15th of the month onwards.

If your status shows Approved but no date yet: Check again from 15 June onwards. SASSA schedules payment dates in batches and not all recipients see their date on the same day. If you still see no date by 25 June, call 0800 60 10 11 (free).

Where Can You Collect Your Grant?

SASSA offers several collection points to avoid long queues at a single location. My advice: if you have a bank account linked to your grant, use an ATM or bank app - it is faster and safer than queuing at a retailer on pay day. The queues at Pick n Pay, Shoprite and Boxer are longest on the first day of payment.

What to Do if Your Payment Is Late

Late payments in the first three working days are usually caused by high transaction volumes - SASSA processes millions of payments simultaneously. Wait until the end of the third working day before taking action.

If your payment has not arrived after three working days:

How this guide is kept accurate

Every figure on this page is checked against SASSA's official portal at srd.sassa.gov.za, the Department of Employment and Labour, and Government Gazette notices. Grant amounts, income thresholds and payment dates are reviewed at the start of every month and again after each national Budget.
