SASSA Child Support Grant Income Criteria

SASSA provides the Child Support Grant to financially struggling families, and caretakers so that they can get financial assistance for their children’s food, clothing, education, and other basic needs. If you want to apply for the SASSA Child Grant, then must check the below list to find who is eligible to receive Child Grant by SASSA:

  • Single Applicant: If you are a single parent or individual caretaker, then your income must not exceed R52,800 per year (approximately R4,400 per month).
  • Married Couple: For married couples, your combined income must not exceed R105,600 per year (approximately R8,800 per month).

SASSA Care Dependency Grant Income Criteria

This grant is provided to the caregivers of children with severe disabilities, this makes sure that they get financial support for the medical and all other basic needs of children with disabilities. Care Dependency Grant income criteria are set as below:

  • Single Applicant: For singles caring disabled children must not be earning more than R20,800 per month to be eligible for the Care Dependency Grant from SASSA.
  • Married Couples: For married couples caring for disabled children, their combined income must be less than R41,600 per month.

SASSA Disability Grant Income Criteria

SASSA Disability Grant provides financial support to individuals with permanent or severe disabilities who are not able to work. As with other grants, it also has a separate income limit set by the SASSA, which is mentioned below:

  • To be eligible for this grant, the applicant should not be earning more than R16,140 per year.

SASSA Old Age Grant Income Criteria

Old Age Grant is aimed to provide financial support to senior citizens, who do not have enough income and assets to support their basic needs like food, shelter, clothing, medical expenses etc. Here is who qualifies for SASSA Old Age Grant:

  • Single Applicant: If you are a single applicant, your income must not exceed R86,280 per year, which is approximately R7,190 per month.
  • Married Couples: For married couples, the combined income must be lower than R172,560 per year, approximately R14,380 per month.

Income Criteria for SASSA In-Aid Grant

This grant aims to provide additional financial support to eligible beneficiaries who are already receiving certain other SASSA grants. It’s not a standalone grant you can apply for directly. So, it does not have any income limit set to get this grant, rather it is given based on the Eligible in the existing SASSA grant.

SASSA Foster Child Grant

Foster Child Grant by SASSA provides financial assistance to caregivers raising children who are not their biological offspring but have been placed in their care by a court order. This is the only grant where no income criteria are needed, the approval of this grant is completely dependent on the legal court order with complete identification.

SASSA War Veterans Grant

This grant provided financial assistance to War Veterans, who require financial support to support their basic needs. War Veterans who are receiving an income of less than R86,280 per year can be eligible for this grant. And for the married couple, their combined income must be less than R172,560 per year for this grant.
